The World is a Cruel and Evil Place.

So, the drama on this side of the Mississippi is that we, the three public service people at my "little" company, have to work July 5th. Excuse me? So, just to remind you, we ALL get Friday July 4th off. And then only three of us have to come in a work on Saturday July 5th from 12 to 5pm. Okay, so while everyone else gets a three day weekend, the rest of us low paid, under appreciated folks don't. And no one but us thinks this is unfair. Because you know they don't work Saturdays. And when I was informed that by taking this job I agreed to work Saturdays, I replied with, "but yes, I agreed to work 1 to 5pm, which is vastly different than 12 to 5 because it means I have an extra hour to do stuff on Saturdays that aren't open on Sunday or Monday which are my days off." At which point I was ignored. I tell you, I never wanted to slam someone's head down into a computer so much in my life. And you know the worst of it? NO ONE WILL COME IN ON JULY 5th. Because people in this city vacate on the afternoon of July 3rd. I'm going to be sitting here by myself being pissed off and quite possibly foaming at the mouth.

Naturally this is only the lastest in a long series of why I'm constantly pissed off and not actually blogging because I'm just too angry all the time. Honestly, this wouldn't have happened anywhere else I ever worked before. And that is the honest truth!

"You'll want all day tomorrow, I suppose!" said Scrooge.

"If quite convenient, Sir."
"It's not convenient," said Scrooge, "and it's not fair. If I was to stop half-a-crown for it, you'd think yourself ill-used, I'll be bound!. . . A poor excuse for picking a man's pocket every twenty-fifth of December!" said Scrooge, buttoning his great coat to the chin. "But I suppose you must have the whole day. Be here all the earlier next morning."
